What a high score means
Teams that score six or seven are usually ready to deploy an AI employee within days. They have repetitive work worth automating, their processes live in tools with APIs, and leadership is comfortable with human-in-the-loop AI. For those teams the bottleneck is not readiness, it is choosing the first workflow.
Teams in the four-to-five band are ready to pilot. A single, well-scoped workflow, usually the most painful repetitive one, is the right place to start, and most pilots validate the fit within two weeks before expanding.
Lower scores are not a verdict. They point at the specific gap to close first. If your process knowledge lives only in one person's head, document it. If your work is not in a tool yet, move it. If leadership wants assurance on oversight, start in Supervised mode where every action waits for a human approval. Each gap is fixable, and most close inside a month.
